Considering NITRO Studio as your solution?
Here are a few questions answered!
What versions of SharePoint does NITRO Studio run on?
NITRO Studio runs on Office 365 (SharePoint Online) and on SharePoint 2013 and 2016 (on-premises).
What are differences between NITRO Studio for Office 365 and for SharePoint 2013/2016?
In Office 365, NITRO Studio includes administration pages where you can access all the apps for configuration purposes, as well as activate and deactivate components. NITRO Studio is a collection of apps developed using the latest Microsoft SharePoint add-in capabilities for cloud and mobile.
In SharePoint 2013/2016 on-premises, NITRO Studio is a collection of web parts that are accessed through List Settings, Site Settings, and other places. It has an administration screen in the Central Administration where the web parts are licensed and updated. The web parts are developed using the latest Microsoft SharePoint programming capabilities for on-premises installations.
As far as the functionality provided, the two versions are on par as much as possible given the different environments (on-premises vs. online).
Do I need SharePoint Online in my Office 365 tenant to use NITRO?
Yes, but the good news is that most Office 365 subscriptions include SharePoint Online.

What payment methods do you accept?
We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express credit cards. We also can invoice and accept payment by check or electronic bank transfer, as follows:
Office 365 Subscriptions:
Monthly subscriptions require a credit card.
Annual Subscriptions can be paid by credit card or check/bank transfer.
SharePoint 2013/2016 Perpetual Licenses with annual support renewal:
We accept payment by credit card or check/bank transfer.
Can I upgrade from a monthly subscription to an annual one (Office 365)?
If you are on our Office 365 monthly plan, you can upgrade to our annual plan at any time.
What happens if we cancel? Are there any fees?
No. You can cancel at any time.
For Office 365:
The subscription will simply not renew at the end of your current subscription period and NITRO features will no longer be available. However, the SharePoint site, lists, and data will remain. For example, if you have a NITRO Form on a SharePoint list, the NITRO Form will not work once the subscription has ended, but all the data and items in the list will not be affected.
For SharePoint 2013/206:
“Cancelling” in this case would be simply not renewing the Annual Support. Since this is sold as a Perpetual License, the web parts will continue to work, but upgrades and support will no longer be available.
Where is my data stored?
All of your data is stored within your Office 365 tenancy (or SharePoint 2013/2016 farm),
In Office 365, we have services on Azure that will read and process information from your site, but no information is stored on our Azure servers. Crow Canyon has SSL encryption on Azure to meet compliance standards. We can provide more detailed security information upon request.
Where is NITRO Studio installed?
In Office 365, NITRO Studio is installed on your App Catalog in Tenant.
In SharePoint 2013/2016, NITRO Studio is installed in your Farm.
Is my data safe?
Yes. Since all of your data is stored within your Office 365 tenancy (or SharePoint 2013/2016 farm), it is subject to the same security criteria as the rest of your tenancy (or farm).
Who owns my data?
You do. Crow Canyon does not store any SharePoint data on its servers. All of your data is stored on your tenant or in your farm.
How is NITRO Studio licensed?
NITRO Studio is licensed as a monthly or annual subscription. It can be licensed for use in the full Tenant, or at site and site collection levels. The subscription provides rolling upgrades and support for the Studio’s apps. Customization and configuration services, as well as training, are available for an extra cost.
NITRO is licensed as a perpetual license with annual support. It can be licensed for use in the full Farm, or at site and site collection levels. The first year of annual support is included with the purchase. Annual support (usually 20% of the perpetual license fee) provides upgrades and continued support for the Studio’s web parts. Customization and configuration services, as well as training, are available for an extra cost.
Do I need a Microsoft Azure account to use NITRO Studio?
